St. Peter's Bump!
Final day of Summer Eights — St. Peter’s W1 bumps Brasenose W1!

Welcome to England in April
It. Never. Stops. Raining.
Ever.
Luckily, I’m pretty sure the engineering faculty is making good headway on the ark.

In fair Verona where we lay our scene...
Welcome to Verona, the most gorgeous Italian city that has ever been.
City of Love. (Wait, that’s Paris).
Correction - City of Violent Bloody Teenage Lust.
Still, if you’ve been looking at this out your balcony for fourteen years, I don’t know if I can really blame you for going puppy love crazy.
Visiting Verona has also prompted my embarrassing knowledge of Romeo and...
More Gorgeous Italy Things.
This is a picture of Capri, an island that looks like it is constantly digitally enhancing itself inside your eyeballs.

Delicious Food I Have Eaten - Part 4
NAPLES, ITALY — After a long day of traveling, all I wanted was a good Italian meal.
What I got was this pizza.
This pizza is most likely the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten in my entire life.
And I have eaten a lot of pizza.
I felt like I had whiplash after this meal. That’s how good it was. It was life-changingly good.
Delicious Food I Have Eaten - Part 3
BUDAPEST, HUNGARY — As the third entry from Budapest, you may be saying: “Wow, I didn’t know that Budapest had such good food!” And to that I will say to you: “This is only the food that I remembered to take pictures of. There is a reason this country is called Hungary. “
Here, we have a glazed, juicy chicken breast with some sort of eggy Hungarian rice/noodle...
Delicious Food I Have Eaten - Part 2
BUDAPEST, HUNGARY — Possibly my favorite meal of Budapest, these are homemade pumpkin ravioli, topped with creamy sauce, spinach, and parmesan cheese. Also, panning to the right is the best gin fizz I have ever tasted (if you look closely you can see that it even had a cherry).
Delicious Food I Have Eaten - Part 1
BUDAPEST, HUNGARY — In a restaurant appropriately named Fatal (because you feel like you are going to die after all the food you consume in this place) I ate paprika chicken with mushrooms, peppers, and potatoes, with Hungarian ewe cheese noodles, all slathered in spicy tomato cream sauce and Turkish yogurt.
There was no room for dessert.
Copenhagen!
So, while Copenhagen is the most expensive city I’ve ever visited EVER, it is still quite pretty.

Oxford in the Snow.
Guys, it snowed here yesterday.
And I love snow.
Love it.
So, this is especially exciting because this is what Oxford looks like in the snow:
(Disclaimer: I did not take this picture. But, it’s a lot prettier than any of the pictures I took, so just let’s just pretend, ok?)

Meet My Family!
I just realized that my college family has never been introduced to my blog!
So, here they are!
Left to right: Sarah (my sister), Andrew (my dad), Sarah (my mom), me, Daniel (my brother).
On British Movie Theatres...
So, I went to the movies the other day.
And, as expected, British movie theatres are pretty much the same as American movie theatres.
Except for this one thing where they give you assigned seats.
Which, to me, seems completely impractical and strange.
Because if you and your friend buy tickets separately, for example, you cannot sit together while watching the movie.

My Divine Food Experience.
So, throughout my travels I ate a lot of really delicious food. Crepes in Paris, sausages in Germany, tiramisu in Rome, the whole deal. I ate away all those muscles I earned from rowing. But, there was one thing I ate that was like no other.
As I was walking through the Christmas market in Salzburg I stopped in my tracks and turned to my friend.
“Do you smell that?” I asked. Because...
Do Rei Mi...
In Salzburg I visited the park where they dance around and sing Do Rei Mi in The Sound of Music. It was winter and, thus, very cold, but the hills were alive with the….well, you know the rest.
My German Lesson.
So, last week I visited my friend Theresa in Frankfurt.
This is the first and only sentence I learned in German:
Zwei Würstchen, Bitte!
Which means:
Two Sausages, Please!
It was both appropriate and useful.

Beasting Academia.
Time for boasting.
Today I got a perfect score on my essay.
Perfect.
Yeah, that’s right, look at all those pretty double check marks.
I’m not going to bore you with all the nitty gritty details, but I’m pretty proud of this. They don’t give out a lot of perfect scores at Oxford.
For now, though, I’m off to go bask in my impressiveness with my bed, my computer,...

Halloween in Oxford.
So, Halloween was last weekend. And Halloween means candy! =)
Here is what I have discovered about candy in England:
1. British people make fun of my beloved Hershey chocolate. Instead, they insist upon some nonsense called Cadbury…which, until about a month ago, I thought was just some company that made chocolate Easter eggs.
2. Having now tasted most of Cadbury’s Halloween...

On Sassy Gay Friend...
So, we all know and love Sassy Gay Friend. He’s helped out all our favorite Shakespearean literary heroines like Juliet, Ophelia, and Desdemona (just to name a few).
But, the last thing I expected was to have a scholarly conversation about him.
Just goes to show - expect the unexpected.
Because, today this is exactly what happened during the Twelfth Night lecture at Oxford University.

On Name Tags...
As I am new to Oxford, I’ve been attending a lot of events where name tags are necessary. This is because, apparently, when you meet a lot of people at once, it’s kind of difficult to remember all their names.
As a result, I have discovered something rather strange about British Name Tag Culture (Is this even a thing? Who cares. It is now.)
In American Name Tag Culture, is is...
This is Your Body on Crew.
I have now been awake for 20 hours.
This means that I woke up at 5 AM and it is now 1 AM.
Here is what I did today:
5:30 AM Rowing Practice. My body hurts in places I didn’t even know I had. More on this to come.
8:30 AM Breakfast in the dining hall, which looks like Harry Potter and feels like Harry Potter and is completely wonderful. And cheap. Though, unfortunately, no house elves.
10:00 AM Lecture. Philip Roth. It was...

On British Sinks...
I am having a slight problem with British sinks.
Here is an example:
Here is the problem:
There is one tap for cold.
There is one tap for hot.
And there is absolutely no possible way to achieve an optimum temperature.

On Ice Water...
I have discovered that ice water is not something that they really do in England.
Which is fine, you know. It’s totally cool.
Except, it’s not cool. It’s room temperature.
And there’s nothing wrong with this. It’s just weird for me.
Cue end of very tiny rant.
